Character, like a photograph, develops in darkness
The Philippines is one of the top countries in the world at risk of climate-related disaster. For populations subsisting at poverty line in particular but also the nation as whole, daily lives and well being are routinely challenged. The Philippines government tales disaster risk seriously and has devoted significant resources to build disaster capacity and reduce population exposure and vulnerability, nationally and locally. This paper exposes the institutional mechanisms for disaster risk reduction management and research which have been conducted in the Philippines related to disaster preparedness, management and resilience.
The study draws on direct observation of and conversation with disaster management professionals, in addition to a review of what literature on resilience and disaster preparedness, in the Philippines. Numerous activities in community based resilience and DRR have been identified across the whole disaster continum, yet important gaps in research and practice remain.
The Philippines is a leading actor in disaster risk management. However, a full picture of who is doing what, how, when, and where on resilience and disaster preparedness does not waist.

Reflection: The world's changes when we change our perspective
Well I've learned and discussed so many in first quarter. Blogging. Before, I don't know what blogging is but when we tackled it I've learned so many things and discovered how it works and how to use it properly. But then it wasn't easy as I thought.
I encoutered problems in this blogging. At first I don't know where should I start. But then our teacher is teaching us step by step on how to create our blog. Again it was not easy but that doesn't mean your going to give up easily you should be patient. In our first post we're all amazed that each of our post is were going to write a nonsense comments.
And the following days went well. So now we still creating our blogs and commenting each others blog because its fun. And I will teach the teenagers like me because I want share what I've learned and it makes me happy teaching others. So that's all.

conflicts. While the term could be applied to many historical interactions
between journalists and military personnel, it first came to be used in the media
coverage of the 2003 invasion of Iraq. The United States military responded
to pressure from the country's news media who were disappointed by the level
of access granted during the 1991 Gulf War and the 2001 U.S.
